I woke up and went to 6:30am mass this morning and then went straight to the fieldhouse and ran for the first time since I got here. I was in such a good mood when I got back, I wanted a bright, happy outfit to match :)

I'm in the library typing this up before I head off to my favorite class so far! Freshman English 101. I think it's really going to improve my writing. Plus, the teacher is awesome! Look at what he put on the 'materials list':

Sunday Fun-day

Hey ya'll this is what I wore to Mass this past Sunday - I'm so glad my friend pressured me into buying this dress :)

Dress - H&M, Belt - Target

I shortened the straps on the dress so that the neckline would be high enough; I think this dress will be good in the summer because I won't have to wear extra clothes under or over it so make it modest.

 I like the back of this dress because it breaks up the pattern making it more modern and not so "frumpy".

I loved this outfit :P

sweater - TJ Maxx

Another awesome thing about that Sunday was an impromptu ( <--- that word looks so strange but apparently it's spelled correctly <.< ) praise and worship session. A bunch of us were sitting at "the bench" and Matthew & Ben brought out their guitars; we spend the night singing Him praise :] I couldn't stop smiling. I'm in a good place here.

Dance Dance...

Hi guys! Friday was the 'freshman semi formal dance' at  Steubenville. A group of us skipped it and went walking through this awesome wooded area behind the rugby field. We later decided it might be fun to go to the dance so we got all dressed up. Here's what I wore:

shirt - H&M, skirt - H&M

The dance really wasn't any fun so we left and ended up getting a group together on a bench where we discussed some theological topics. Some of the guys in our group had never been apart of discussions like that and they loved it. It was so great :)

belt - Plato's Closet

I would wear this outfit on normal days around campus; I don't think it's too dressy.

shoes - Target

I met this guy named Joe who is a recent Catholic convert (1 month!) and..wow. He knows so much about the Catholic faith and is so clearly in love with the Truth. We ended up talking till 3am that night just because... it's hard to make me shut up about theology :P

College Kid :P

Hey guys! This is my first official college kid outfit - craziness! I wore jeans to move in but most of the girls wear skirts at my school so I fit right in today.

 This a Switchfoot shirt bought for me a few years back at one of their concerts by my wonderful boyfriend. He knew I had really wanted to go so he brought a shirt back to me :]

This is the grotto on campus. BEAUTIFUL. 

 I sat on a stone bench in the shade surrounded by a quiet, gentle breeze...

...it was so peaceful.

This is why I'm so glad I chose this college: There are so many quite places provided for prayer and meditation.

I also found this quote today in the book The Imitation of Mary:

 "But, child, what is the matter? who wants to do you evil? They are not to be feared. I am here, as is my Son..."

How comforting is that?

1. THIS RING:

I bought this ring on Ebay...

 It's adjustable which is awesome because I have weird fingers :P

I really don't do much online shopping or spend my money often. This school year I counted it alot (almost obsessively) and savedsavedsaved, but after I sent off my first big check to Steubenville I decided that a few dollars here and there didn't matter all that much anymore since I wasn't working towards a goal amount of money.. or something like that :P

4. SINGING IN THE RAIN:

I adore this movie. I've loved it since I was a little kid and recently rewatched it today because I was home alone and sick. I love Donald O'Connor :P

As you can see, he's chillin' on my wall. Renee Shumay gave me this as a birthday present a couple years ago :]

17 days in and I just now noticed the photo on my calendar for the month of August:

I actually laughed out loud - it's so appropriate! In less than a week I leave for college and have to get used to a whole new surrounding, schedule and group of people; I'm like the kid on the high dive in this picture: scared and nervous, but my only option is to jump ( or awkwardly creep to the edge and tumble in with arms a-flailing ).
