I've never understood this argument, either.. somehow, a horrible situation and a great evil makes it ok to bring even more evil into the world? It doesn't make sense.
Often it's proposed as an argument that appeals to the emotions, not one that appeals to objective reality.. This has been plastered all over the news lately, and it's ironic how so many outlets (CNN, etc) just take it as a given already and anyone who denies it is insane.
